Levine was wrapping up after taping his performance for the show by signing autographs for some fans. As he interacted with fans, a man ran up and dumped what appeared to be powdered sugar on the Maroon 5 frontman. Based on fan photos, Levine took the sugar to the left side of his face before security tackled and subdued the man. The sugar was hidden in a brown paper bag prior to the incident.

Fans who were already snapping pics and video got a pretty clear shot of the incident.

According to Yahoo News, the man was identified as 28-year old Navid Farsi, who already has several charges pending against him. He is currently being held pending $100,000 bail.

You can watch video of the incident at TMZ. Levine, rightfully so, appeared angry about the entire incident. You can see him glare back at the man before removing his jacket and walking away. Fans can be heard screaming at the man and asking what had just happened.

The attack is reminiscent of the flour bomb heaved upon Kim Kardashian, or even the ashes spilled on Ryan Seacrest by Sacha Baron Cohen while in his Dictator character back in 2012.
